Barron Trump, the son of President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump, has launched a new beverage company, according to a recent announcement. The business is called Sollos Yerba Mate Inc. and it focuses on premium bottled drinks.
It is Barron Trumpâs latest venture as he enters the private sector. Details about the products, branding and distribution strategy were shared in a public release from the company.
In launching the enterprise, Barron said he was inspired by his interest in health and wellness and his desire to build a brand that reflects those values. The companyâs initial offerings are positioned as premium beverages designed for a mainstream market.
According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Sollos Yerba Mate Inc. has successfully raised $1 million in capital through a private placement. Yerba mate, an herbal tea, has gained popularity in the U.S. as an alternative to coffee, and it is widely enjoyed in several South American countries. However, the launch date for Sollos Yerba Mate Inc. has not yet been announced.
Additionally, Barronâs estimated net worth was $150 million as of last September, primarily due to his investments in cryptocurrency, NewsNation reports.
Industry analysts note that celebrity-linked business ventures can benefit from high name recognition but often face scrutiny over their ability to compete in saturated consumer goods markets. The beverage sector in particular has seen a mix of established brands and new entrants over the past decade.
Family representatives have not disclosed long-term plans for the business or whether the Trump family will play an ongoing role beyond the launch phase. The companyâs leadership team includes professionals from the beverage and consumer products industries.
The announcement comes as Barron Trump continues to maintain a relatively private profile compared with other members of his family, focusing on business and personal pursuits since his father left public office.
Last fall, Barron did not appear for the start of sophomore classes at New York Universityâs Greenwich Village campus, according to multiple reports.
The 19-year-old was expected to resume studies at the Stern School of Business in Manhattan, but several NYU security officers confirmed to People that he has not been on campus, The New York Postâs Page Six reported.
âFrom what I was told,â one officer said, âheâs doing a semester at another NYU campus.â
Officials did not specify the location, citing security reasons. NYU maintains degree-granting campuses in Downtown Brooklyn, Abu Dhabi and Shanghai, along with learning centers in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
Page Six reported that Barron is residing at the White House and attending classes at the schoolâs Washington, D.C. campus. That program accepts up to 120 students each semester and focuses on politics, public policy, history, economics and journalism. The move keeps him close to both parents, who remain based in the capital during the presidentâs second term.
During his freshman year, Barron lived at Trump Tower in Manhattan while commuting to NYUâs Washington Square campus. He occasionally flew to Palm Beach, Florida, to spend time with his father at Mar-a-Lago, but his regular presence in New York made him one of the most visible presidential children on a college campus.
Even without attending classes in person this fall, Trump has stayed connected with classmates. Sources told Page Six he regularly communicates with friends through Xbox and Discord, two gaming platforms popular with students.
âHe has added it to his repertoire,â one source said. âItâs his communication platform of choice.â
An insider explained that Trump avoids sharing his phone number because of security concerns. âItâs his work around,â the source said. âHeâs still trouble shooting.â
The same source emphasized that the presidentâs son is selective in how he communicates, sticking to people he already knows. âItâs gamer bro culture, they ask each other for their gamer tag,â the insider said. âHe knows the people.â
